Xiangxi Prefecture has 5 provincial ICH demonstration sites

Recently, two workshops, two villages and one block in Xiangxi Tujia and Miao Autonomous Prefecture were listed as provincial demonstration sites for intangible cultural heritage (ICH).
 
They are Ye’s Brocade ICH Workshop in Longshan County, Miaoxiu Essence Miao Embroidery ICH Workshop in Jishou City, Banli Village in Huayuan County, Shuangfeng Village in Yongshun County, and Qianzhou Ancient Town in Jishou City.
Intangible cultural heritage is precious spiritual wealth and a scarce cultural resource. For a long time, all ethic groups in Xiangxi Prefecture have created colorful national culture, and left many unique ICH projects.

In recent years, the local government has continued to promote the construction of the ICH protection and inheritance base, created a number of ICH workshops, villages (towns) and blocks, and promoted the creative transformation and innovative development of ICH resources.

ICH has become an important force for Xiangxi Prefecture to consolidate the achievements of poverty alleviation, and promote rural revitalization as well as deep integration of culture and tourism.

The new provincial demonstration sites should take this opportunity to further enrich the business formats, create more highlights, promote the rural revitalization and contribute to the economic and social development. Local cultural and tourism departments should strengthen business guidance and services for the provincial demonstration sites, improve the public service facilities, enrich product formats, increase publicity and promotion efforts, advance the continuous development of relevant industries, and promote the sustainable and healthy development of demonstration sites.
